Heritage Deck Design & Construction is a New Jersey custom deck builder and contractor. We have been installing decks in Middlesex, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, Hunterdon, Warren and Morris Counties since 1975. In our 37 years, we have become Central Jersey’s premium deck construction company, installing well over 1,000 beautiful decks and dozens of major features, such as, porches, deck roofs, gazebos, screen rooms and Florida rooms.

In September of 2011, we received 3 national deck awards at the National Deck Builders Conference in Chicago, Illinois. We now proudly add these National Deck Awards to the awards that we received from New Jersey’s Chapter of NADRA, (North American Deck and Railing Association).

The local awards given from NADRA are special because we were recognized by our peers, local advertisers and national manufactures that distribute in New Jersey. Along with our awards, House and Home Magazine of New Jersey has honored our deck designs by featuring us on the cover of their magazines.

Let our design staff help you design a deck that is truly yours. At your first meeting with Heritage Deck, you will find that we work with your needs and desires. We don’t assume we know what you need or want and we won’t work on your design without you. Together, we create your conceptual design at your kitchen table. Through our leading questions, templates, expertise and with your answers, together, we will determine the proper size that will make sure your deck is comfortable, functional and will meet your needs. Continuing with our questioning, we will determine the shape, levels and the features that will make your deck into your personal “outdoor living area”. After completing a conceptual plan, we will give you an estimate for the construction that we have drawn based on the quality of work you have seen in our portfolio. Once we give you an estimate, we can begin to adjust the design up or down to make sure we fall in your investment range. We will briefly discuss the available decking and railing materials but the choices have gotten huge over the past ten years that we generally save that discussion for the next meeting.

Once you decide Heritage Deck Design & Construction is your contractor of choice, we take care of everything. We obtain the zoning, construction, electrical and any other permit that will be necessary to install your new deck. We do all the communications with the building department and arrange for all inspections to include final inspection. Our contracts are highly detailed so you know exactly what to expect and we include approximate start and finish dates. We only work with progressive payments based by specified completion points. For your convenience, we can accept Visa and MasterCard payments but all estimates and quotations are based on payments being made in cash or with a personal check. All our deck construction is warranted by Heritage Deck Design & Construction and all the materials used in our construction are warranted by each individual manufacturer.

We are an active, charter and participating member of N.A.D.R.A (North American Deck & Railing Association). We take part in the annual “Deck for a Soldier” program where N.A.D.R.A. members join together with local and national suppliers to build a deck for a disabled U.S. Soldier.

We are licensed by the New Jersey Department of Consumer Affairs, Lic.# 13VH00048800. We are EPA Lead Certified for New Jersey to include Certifications from NADRA and Simpson Strong Tie. We also are manufacturer certified for Trex, TimberTech, Azek and Fiberon.
